Henri Bok, bass clarinet ambassador, has promoted his instrument and its repertoire for more than 30 years.
Alongside his work as Professor of bass clarinet at Rotterdam Superior Conservatoire and Musikene in San Sebastian, he is active as a soloist and chamber musician. To date he has given concerts and masterclasses in 36 different countries.

Henri Bok’s newest formations are ‘HeRo’ and ‘Duo Hevans’: ‘HeRo’ - together with jazz pianist Rob van Bavel - reconnects him to his jazz roots and his love for Eric Dolphy.
‘Duo Hevans’ - with saxophonist Ann Evans - continues his exploration into unknown musical territories.

Countless renowned composers from all over the world have written for and dedicated works to him. Henri Bok is also active as a composer for his instrument and the ensembles in which he plays. His inimitable style of playing can now be heard on over 30 CDs, featuring solo works, concerti and chamber music (Duo Contemporain, Duo Novair).

Shoepair Music publishes Henri Bok’s own compositions and ‘New Techniques for the Bass Clarinet’ - the reference book widely acclaimed as the ultimate guide to the bass clarinet.

Henri Bok plays a Selmer "Privilege" bass clarinet, a Luis Rossi wooden bell, a Pomarico crystal mouthpiece and Rico reeds.
