After performing together Nelson Ayres' beautiful "3 Brazilian Sketches" for two bass clarinets and symphonic wind band in 1998 (Memorial da Amèrica Latina, São Paulo with the Banda Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo), Henri Bok and Luís Afonso "Montanha" decided to officially start their bass clarinet duo "clarones".

Their chemistry and charismatic way of performing inspire composers and excite audiences. They have an interesting repertoire consisting of original works (Brazilian as well as European), jazz arrangements and their own compositions.

"Duo Clarones" played at the Opening Gala Concert of Clarinet Fest Ostende, Belgium in 1999 (with the Symphonic Wind Band of the Guides) and made their World Premiere of Nailor "Proveta" Azevedo's "Suite" for two bass clarinets and symphonic wind band in November 2000 in Tatuí, during the 5th Encontro Brasileiro de Clarinetistas.
In August 2001 "Duo Clarones" were featured during the US Clarinet fest in New Orleans.
